In July 2021, visitors of the Civic Museum of Foggia had the opportunity to experience Archeoech, our virtual reality experience that combines the visual reconstruction of the medieval cathedral of Montecorvino with the recreation of its acoustics using advanced 3D audio techniques. The project involved a team of experts in acoustics, archaeology, and other fields, as well as academic institutions, and included gathering archaeological information, creating graphical and audio models, producing immersive audio content, and making a 15-minute VR documentary. 250 participants took part in the projections and responded positively to the virtual archaeological visit, which brought together research and local communities.
